(4) Jitokko Aya
Local delicacy that
can only be enjoyed here.
A 10-minute walk from JR Obi station will take you to this restaurant where you can enjoy the specialty of Nichinan, Jitokko chicken, which is the special chicken specified under the Miyazaki brand. This is very popular with local people as well as tourists, and is highly recommended. The most popular menu item is "Charcoal grilled Miyazaki chicken thigh", which is a softly grilled chicken in the Miyazaki style grilling method, done using the locally produced charcoal. Another menu item which is always selling out is "sashimi of raw jitokko chicken", a local delicacy that you must reserve to enjoy. It is only available in the area where extremely fresh Miyazaki chicken is sold.

(5) Udo Jingu
Come and enjoy the mythical feeling.
One of the most famous shrines in the south of Miyazaki, where the myths of Umisachi-hiko and Yamasachi-hiko were based. The vermilion lacquered main shrine is located in a cave after a long path that extends along the coast providing a beautiful contrast between the blue of the sky and ocean and the red railing. The god enshrined in this shrine is Hikonagisa Takeugaya Fukiaezu no Mikoto, the child of Yamasachi-hiko and Toyotama-hime. The main shrine is surrounded by mythical rocks with legends, such as the one called Kame-ishi (turtle rock) on which Toyotama-hime came, and Ochichi-iwa (breast rock) that she left for her child.

(6) Nichinan Tourist Information Center
Aburatsu, a port that enjoyed the prosperity of tuna fishing
Aburatsu is a port town that prospered as the shipping port of the local specialty Obi cedar during the Edo and Meiji periods, and then as a tuna fishing port at the beginning of the Showa period. Horikawa canal is constructed in order to carry the cedar trees down from the mountains. Along the approximately 900 meter-long flow of the canal remain many old buildings, such as those made with red bricks as well as the Horikawa bridge, that demonstrate the prosperity of that time. A scene that is representative of this Horikawa canal is that of "Benko Ikada Nagashi (rafting)", which was the method for carrying the cedar logs by making them into rafts and pulling the rafts with a small boat. This method is no longer in use but people are reproducing the scenes of the past a few times a year to remember the old days.

(7) Phoenix Country Club
A course that every golfer dreams of
This "Phoenix Country Club" with long history and tradition is one of the most famous and prestigious golf courses in Japan that lies in the Phoenix Seagaia Resort, and has been hosting the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament since 1974.
