We have been manufacturing our products while faithfully sticking to the fundamentals,
which are based on our long-accumulated techniques and experience acquired through manufacturing precision punches and dies for the automobile industry that we have been working on since our establishment.
MURAMASA tablet tooling is created using the full range of manufacturing and inspection facilities and by the hands of craftsmen.
Unique Special Quenching
When manufacturing tableting tools, heading tools, precision jigs and tools, and cutting blades, the best heat treatment conditions that are most suitable for these dies and tools vary greatly depending on the targeted usage, use conditions, and the material.
We create the best heat treatment conditions that match the characteristics of each product by using a salt bath.
We have designed our system to collect data on the heat treatment conditions that match specific characteristics from preheating, quenching, rapid cooling, tempering, through to finishing processes so that we can reproduce the identical heat treatment process every time.
NANNO's punch and die manufacturing is based on the accumulation of heat treatment data and also on the robust heat treatment technique that is capable of processing the data accurately.
Heat Treatment using a Salt Bath
Fewer and fewer companies are using salt baths for heat treatment due to the severe environments of the heat treatment sites and the decrease in skilled workers, etc.
NANNO, however, considers the use of a salt bath, which is a fundamental of heat treatment, the core of our punch and die manufacturing and insists on the heat treatment style that takes the most advantage of the steel characteristics.
Features of a Salt Bath
Salt baths allow for heat treatment with rapid heating and rapid cooling, which is optimal for steel heat treatment.
As punches and dies are typically manufactured in numerous different product types and in small lots, it is difficult to apply heat treatment conditions using a vacuum furnace in ways that suit each of the various types of punches and dies.
In contrast, with a salt bath the heat treatment conditions can be adjusted according to the size and shape of each punch or die so that the potential of the product can be maximized.
Unique Heating Cycle
A product is heated rapidly in a high temperature furnace under conditions suited for its size and shape, and then it is cooled rapidly in a hot bath furnace.
Following that, tempering is applied twice, in order to stabilize the heat treated structure and to remove the residual austenite structure.
We use a salt bath furnace that has high thermal conduction in every heat treatment process, which enables us to apply the optimal heat treatment for the steel structure.
